How to register with Loriot.io

and connect your LoRaWAN™ Rapid Development Kit

You can create your own virtual private LoRaWAN ™ network in minutes, all you need is a supported LoRaWAN ™Gateway.

Follow the steps below to register with Loriot.io, configure the setup and connect your Kit

    • Sign up with Loriot.io at this link: https://www.loriot.io/register.html or log in: https://www.loriot.io/home/login.html
    • On registration a first sample network is created. Select the pre-provisioned ‘Sample Networks” in the ‘NETWORKS’ section or create a new network.
    • Now click ‘Add Gateway’ to connect your LoRaWAN™ Gateway with your network by clicking ‘Add Gateway’ and complete the registration process.
    • Next step is to configure the ‘Application Output’, navigate to the ‘APPLICATION’ section and open the ‘Sample Application’ or create a new Application.
    • In the section ‘Application Outputs’, click ‘Manage outputs’ and add AllThingsTalk
    • With registration and configuration now done, we can add the LoRaWAN™ Rapid Development Kit as a device. In the ‘+ Enroll Device’ menu of the Applications section, select ‘LoRaWAN®1.0.x’ and ‘Generate all parameters’and click ‘Enroll”
    • Select the newly created device to retrieve the LoRaWAN™ keys and LoRaWAN™ Parameters which are needed when connecting your Kit in AllThingsTalk Maker.

How to register with AllThingsTalk Maker

and connect your LoRaWAN™ Rapid Development Kit

The use of the AllThingsTalk Maker application is simple and free for prototyping purposes.

    • Register at http://maker.allthingstalk.com with your email address and a chosen User ID and pasword.
    • AllThingsTalk Maker organises members and devices in Grounds, a better way to manage things and data access.
    • To connect your Kit in a Ground, click 'Connect a device'
    • In the 'LoRaWAN™ devices' section Choose 'LoRaWAN™ Rapid Development Kit'
    • Select the 'Loriot' tile.
    • Name your device and follow the Loriot registration process:
      • Enter the 'Device EUI'
      • Enter the 'Application ID'
      • Select 'ABP' as 'Activation method' 
      • Enter the previously generated LoRaWAN™ keys ( Device Address, Network Session Key and App Session Key) in the 'Required keys' section
    • Click the 'Connect' button
    • You're all set, the only thing left to do is to configure your Rapid Development Kit. Consult the Read docs section in the Settings menu to understand how this can be done easily and be ready to build your first experiment.
