How to integrate with Power Automate

This tutorial shows how to integrate ALSO IoT Platform with the Power Automate tool (previously Microsoft Flow).

Introduction

Nowadays, IT and consequently IoT world are oriented towards creating the "application layers" to facilitate various actions that can provide valuable insights for the business. Hence, managers can use these data to perform dedicated actions and improve their existing business models or create new ones. For instance, a webhook integration can connect different departments which were separated before the integration, and thus enable a better collaboration between teams and verticals across the organisation.

Therefore, our ALSO IoT Platform enables you to use it as-is to connect your device (with any network), collect the data (in your Ground), visualise it on the Pinboard and finally, to use it for numerous use-cases that can improve your business.

Integration with Power Automate

With Microsoft Power Automate,  you can connect to more than 220 services and manage data from cloud or on-premises sources. It helps you to integrate with the Microsoft solutions you may already use, like Office 365, SharePoint, Excel and Teams so you can deploy easily and onboard your team quickly to work seamlessly with your existing solutions [1].

What can you expect from Power Automate? Here are a few examples of what you can do:

  • Automate business processes
  • Send automatic reminders for past due tasks
  • Move business data between systems on a schedule
  • Connect to almost 300 data sources or any publicly available API
  • You can even automate tasks on your local computer like computing data in Excel.

Just think about time saved once you automate repetitive manual tasks simply by recording mouse clicks, keystrokes and copy paste steps from your desktop! Power Automate is all about automation [2].

Note: You can also check the webhook tutorial (step-by-step) from the Microsoft docs.

ALSO IoT Platform and Webhooks

Using our IoT Platform, you can forward the valuable data using a simple Rule engine, either in a graphic mode with the wizard or generating your custom rules.  Here, I'll present how to forward data from the CO2 device, that being temperaturehumidity and CO2 level.
